GENERAL JET SKI RENTAL QUESTIONS

1. How much does it cost to rent a jet ski on Lake Travis?

Prices vary depending on the season, day of the week, and rental duration. On average, you can expect:

  • Hourly rentals: $85–$125/hour

  • Half-day rentals (3–4 hours): $250–$400

  • Full-day rentals (8 hours): $500–$750

Discounts may be available for weekday bookings or multi-jet ski rentals.

2. Do I need a boating license to rent a jet ski?

In Texas, riders born on or after September 1, 1993 must complete a Boater Education Course to legally operate a personal watercraft. If you don’t have a license, you may still ride as a passenger or book with a licensed operator.

3. How old do I have to be to rent or ride a jet ski on Lake Travis?

  • To rent: You must be 18 years or older with a valid government-issued ID.

  • To operate: Riders must be 16 or older, and in some cases, 13+ with a boater's education card.

  • Passengers can be any age, but life jackets are required for all riders.

You can reserve online through our website or by calling us directly. Advance reservations are highly recommended, especially on weekends and during peak season (May–September).

7. What is your cancellation and refund policy?

Most companies offer:

  • Full refund with 48+ hours’ notice

  • Partial refund or reschedule with 24–48 hours' notice

  • No refund for same-day cancellations or no-shows
    Bad weather exceptions apply—if it’s unsafe to ride, we’ll reschedule or refund your booking.

SAFETY & EQUIPMENT

8. Are life jackets included?

Yes. All rentals include U.S. Coast Guard-approved life vests for each rider and passenger. Wearing a life jacket is mandatory at all times on Lake Travis.

9. How fast do the jet skis go?

Our Lake Travis jet skis are high-performance models that can reach speeds of 50–60+ mph, depending on the make, model, and weight onboard. Please ride responsibly and follow local speed regulations.

10. Do you offer guided jet ski tours?

Yes! For those unfamiliar with Lake Travis or wanting a more scenic experience, we offer guided jet ski tours with a local expert. Popular routes include:

  • Devil’s Cove

  • Starnes Island

  • Mansfield Dam

  • The Oasis cliffs
    Tours are perfect for sightseeing, wildlife spotting, and photo opportunities.

GROUPS & SPECIAL OCCASIONS

11. Can I rent multiple jet skis for a group?

WEATHER & CONDITIONS

13. What happens if it rains on the day of my rental?

Light rain is usually fine, but if there are unsafe weather conditions (lightning, heavy storms, high winds), we’ll work with you to reschedule or issue a full refund.

14. Are there any jet ski restrictions or no-wake zones on Lake Travis?

Yes, Lake Travis has designated no-wake zones near marinas, swim areas, and docks. Riders must also follow:

  • No reckless driving or wake jumping

  • No operation under the influence

  • 50 ft. distance from other watercraft, swimmers, and docks
